NPOV Problem

[edit]

The current article presents too one-sided (overly positive) a picture of the Texas Enterprise Fund (TEF). For example, one of the biggest grants, $20 million grant to sub-prime mortgage lender Countrywide Financial in return for a promise of 7,500 jobs, did not result in additional jobs for Texas because because Countrywide failed as a company prior to bringing the promised jobs to Texas. An article in the Austin American-Statesman, November 9, 2007, page D1 discusses this particular grant. An edit by Dlavine time stamped 15:25, 10 April 2007, although not supported by a reference and not specific, provided some balance but was undone on 02:21, 10 February 2009 by 72.200.71.237. Another controversy to explore is the source of funds of for TEF, especially the portion contributed by Texas Employers in the form of unemployment taxes.
