Number of Aircraft Built
[edit]Due to the rather obscure nature of the Colt 100 and its manufacturer, there has been some confusion as to how many airframes have been built thus far.
- N105TX is registered as a "Texas Aircraft Manufacturing LLC TA01" under Experimental-R&D category and has S/N TXA002 on the FAA aircraft registry. This airframe is a nonconforming prototype and is used for R&D, demonstration, and exhibition purposes. The S/N of TXA002 can easily be confused with N126RY's (see below) but the important point is the TA01 (not Colt 100) type designator. (As for the serial number, TA01 with S/N 001 was built in Brazil was kept in Brazil whereas S/N TXA002 was shipped to the United States and would eventually become N105TX.)
- The conforming production aircraft has a type designator of COLT 100 in the Aircraft Registry and 7 have been built, 6 of them flying at the moment. An 8th airframe is being assembled at the time of writing.
- SN TXA001 is registered N104TA and is a conforming prototype. It is kept at Texas Aircraft's Hondo facility and is used as a demo aircraft for prospective customers.
- SN TXA002 is registered N126RY and was painted in a custom Florida Gators paint scheme before being delivered to its owner in Florida.
- SN TXA003 is registered N2017 and was delivered to a customer in Alabama.
- SN TXA004 is registered N657BW and was delivered to a customer in Texas.
- SN TXA005 is registered N321FC. This is the first Colt 100 aircraft to feature Garmin G3X Touch avionics instead of the Dynon Skyview HDX system. This aircraft was delivered to a customer in Florida.
- SN TXA006 is registered N422TX. This airframe also features the Garmin G3X Touch, but without an MFD. This aircraft was delivered to a customer in Oklahoma.
- SN TXA007 is registered N830TX. At the time of writing, this aircraft is awaiting final assembly.
Between the delivery of TXA002 and TXA003, the status of Texas Aircraft was changed from "Texas Aircraft Mfg LLC" to "Texas Aircraft Mfg, Inc."

Company Leadership
[edit]It appears a user made an edit to this article a few days ago to reflect that Matheus Grande is in fact no longer the head of Texas Aircraft. Of course, due to a lack of references this edit was reverted.
I've been meaning to make such an edit myself for quite some time as Mr. Grande in fact had transitioned out of Texas Aircraft over 2 years ago. I'm not completely sure who exactly is heading the company now, but I recall it was somebody with the Jordaõ surname.
Nonetheless, Texas Aircraft has neither confirmed the exit of Mr. Grande nor the establishment of Mr. Jordaõ as head of TxA. LinkedIn does reflect he has moved on to a different firm but I'd expect trying to use that as a reference could be in violation of privacy rules.
Would people agree that simply removing the reference to Mr. Grande being the head of Texas Aircraft would work best for now? — Preceding unsigned comment added by PK-JIN (talk • contribs) 15:10, 1 April 2023 (UTC)
- We can't just remove his name based on no evidence. We have a ref that says he is the company head and nothing that says he is not. Need WP:RS. - Ahunt (talk) 15:22, 1 April 2023 (UTC)
