Opposition?

[edit]
There is much opposition to the airport in the surrounding communities, especially after a two accidents in the first week of June 2005.

References? Is this NPOV? Thanks. --ChrisRuvolo (t) 18:11, 19 Jun 2005 (UTC)

There's enough opposition in the surrounding communities that a US Congressman has taken up the issue and considers it an important issue. In fact, it's listed as such on his website. http://www.rothman.house.gov/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=689&Itemid=45

History

[edit]

Is the [Sept 2 2005 air crash] noteworthy enough to mention? What were the criteria used to select the incidents mentioned in the existing History? --XenonofArcticus (t) 23:58, 21 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

US Airways 1549 Non-event

[edit]

There seems little value in mentioning this: "In January 2009 it was revealed that Teterboro was considered as an emergency landing location by air traffic control during the crash of US Airways Flight 1549. Ultimately, the pilot, Chesley Sullenberger, decided to ditch the plane in the Hudson River". Just because the pilot saw an airport as a possible landing site does not make it notable. It is notable on the article pertaining to the crash but not here. Barrylb (talk) 12:38, 6 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I just added it into the See Also list Jianqing01 (talk) 18:18, 9 February 2010 (UTC)Jianqing01[reply]
It seems noteworthy to me because it is a nationally known event and Sullenberger mentioned Teterboro during the incident.

Spectrum Air

[edit]

Can someone please create an article for "Spectrum Air"? Mine was deleted due to CSD A7 in the criteria for speedy deletion. I did my research at the Spectrum Air web site. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Atat67 (talkcontribs) 06:37, 13 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

US Airways Flight 1549

[edit]

Before 2017 this page contained information mentioning US Airways 1549 which said this:

On January 15, 2009, US Airways Flight 1549 departing from LaGuardia Airport struck birds on take-off and lost power to both engines; Teterboro Airport was briefly considered as an emergency diversion by the pilot, Capt. Chesley B. "Sully" Sullenberger, before his successful emergency ditching of the aircraft in the Hudson River.

This was since removed, the editor gave the reason "This has nothing to do with incidents at Teterboro." [1]

Would anyone agree that this info is unrelated to the airport? If it is not related, I would also recommend removing the US airways Flight 1549 from the "See Also" section of the article.

Thanks, happy editing OkayKenji (talk) 20:32, 13 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that it need not be mentioned in the article. The plane neither took off from nor crashed at Teterboro. The spit-balling mention of it during the short flight is not enough to include it within the article body.
That said, see also sections can and should contain articles where there is a connection, but a weaker one that does not allow for a direct mention in the body, so it is fine to leave it in the see also section. In fact, that is the best place for it. oknazevad (talk) 21:32, 13 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

You already added it to the article. It’s still there but updated to include citations. NJZombie (talk) 12:49, 11 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
