Stuff and nonsense
[edit]The first reference used in the article is a nice bit of POV WP:OR which reads "Although the Ireland national team includes players from two different political entities—the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, a part of the United Kingdom—the island of Ireland is considered a single country for rugby purposes, with the Irish Rugby Football Union governing the sport throughout the island". The ref is placed after a wikilinked mention of the British and Irish Lions and the Pacific Islanders. I'm not sure that it's in the correct position, but more importantly, I'm not sure it's even necessary. The Lions article has plenty of info about its constituent teams, and the footnote - and that's what it is.its not a reference! - is really trying to 'explain' an irrelevance to the subject of the article - Test status.
So I'm going to remove the entire ref as unnecessary. Atlas-maker (talk) 09:54, 29 June 2013 (UTC)
