1998 Connie Gough Tournament

[edit]

Hi @BennyOnTheLoose, just a question about this sentence: "After an absence from competitive snooker from 1995 to 1998, the unseeded Davidson defeated world number 5 Lisa Quick and reigning world champion Karen Corr on her way to the final of the 1998 Connie Gough Tournament, where she defeated second-ranked Karen Corr 3–1."

If she defeated Corr on her way to the final, how did she defeat Corr again in the final?

Also, note the multiple links to Karen Corr! HurricaneHiggins (talk) 09:28, 4 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for spotting this HurricaneHiggins! Also thanks for improving the prose. (Sorry!) I've seen cases where more than one win against the same opponent happens (winning in a group stage then again in the knockout) but in this case I think I just got distracted by the source name "Davidson Inflicts Rare Defeat on Corr". I was going to add a bit of detail about the seniors championships; do you think anything else needs expanding? Regards, BennyOnTheLoose (talk) 10:12, 4 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, @BennyOnTheLoose! I think you've done a great job on this article. I think if you clarify that point, and add a bit of detail about her seniors championships, it should be ready for a GA review. Great work! :) HurricaneHiggins (talk) 10:31, 4 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
HurricaneHiggins I think it's about ready to be nominated now. Would you like to be a co-nominator? (I don't mind replying to the review.) Regards, BennyOnTheLoose (talk) 15:59, 4 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @BennyOnTheLoose, yes, absolutely, I can be co-nominator and also help respond if you like. Have a good weekend! HurricaneHiggins (talk) 11:58, 5 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
