Marriage

- Upon his death; it was his second marriage. The Independent's obituary states that he married Mary Howard in 1949 (they had one son, who died after choking on a meal at one year old); their marriage was dissolved but the date is not given in the obituary), then he married Margaret Peden in 1957.
