I will take a look at this one, comments to follow in due course. Zawed (talk) 21:54, 13 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

History

[edit]
  • The report was pessimistic of about the...

  • ...part-time in the TAF Air Force, mirroring...
    • Done.
  • I think a discussion that the TAF was being raised in conjunction with the proper NZPAF is warranted. At present, it reads as though the TAF was being raised in isolation and that it was the only no air force.
    • Good point. I have clarified this.
  • You introduce the abbreviation TAF but actually don't use it?
    • True. I have done this now.
  • ...initially transferred from New Zealand Permanent Air Force, stocks. misplaced comma here.
    • Thank you. That is fixed.
  • The aircraft were transferred to the aerodrome... already established the aircraft have been transferred, suggest saying "The aircraft were based at the aerodrome..."
    • Done.
  • in the September following. suggest "the following September."
    • Done.
  • From a structure point of view, perhaps a subsection heading for the Second World War?
    • I have changed the structure to reflect the two incarnations.
  • which due to treaty meant... not sure what you mean by "to treaty" here?
    • I believe it refers to a mutual defence treaty, but the source is unclear and I am wary of adding original research.
  • into the regular air force I think it was known as the Royal New Zealand Air Force by this time. Note that the lead refers to the NZPAF at this point.
    • Good spot. I have added a sourced point about the name change.
  • In December 1948, the Air Force TAF...
    • Done.
  • In the 5th para: which were never actually formed.</ref> there is a misplaced ref tag here.
    • Fixed.
  • Also there is a cite needed tag at the end of the 5th para.
    • Yes. I have fixed the citations for the paragraph.

Organisation

[edit]
  • As with previous section, should use the TAF abbreviation as appropriate.
    • Done.
  • Link Hobsonville areodrome
    • Done.
  • Any info on the numbering of the squadrons? No. 6 Squadron is mentioned in the previous section.
    • I have added some clarification.
  • ...shortly before the Air Force disappeared. suggest "shortly before the TAF was absorbed into the RNZAF."
    • Done.

References

[edit]
  • The Chayton ref is not correct; the author is Charles Melvill, also the cite should be to pg 2 I think?
    • Fixed.
  • Instead of the pdf for the Ross ref, which seems to lack page numbering, suggest using the html version here
    • Done.
  • Note 15 should be converted into the format used for the other report links
    • Fixed.
  • Note 17 (covering the air traffic controllers of early 21st century) needs appropriate formatting, just a bare URL at the moment.
    • Removed.
  • Sanders is listed but not cited

That's it for me at this stage, I may have another pass once the above has been dealt with. Cheers, Zawed (talk) 11:14, 16 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Generally happy with this but I have made a couple of small tweaks, check you are OK with them. I am passing as GA, as I believe the article meest the necessary criteria. Good work. Zawed (talk) 05:38, 29 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
