Air origin

[edit]

Where does the air come from, through a hole in the lung? It's not made clear the origin of the air that causes the pressure to increase. 72.192.175.175 (talk) 06:59, 5 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, it comes from a hole in the lung. I added a bit to the lead, does that help? Thanks for pointing that out. delldot ∇. 15:16, 6 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Is this a "Sucking Chest Wound"?

[edit]

This sounds an awful lot (to a layman) like the injury colloquially referred to as a "sucking chest wound." If this is the case, could someone who is certain of that fact please add it to the article? Thank you. 76.179.184.21 (talk) 09:19, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is NOT a sucking chest wound. That is a different entity, sometimes called a 'communicating pneumothorax', but often just called a 'sucking chest wound', even by physicians. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.162.247.126 (talk) 14:47, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

tactical stuff

[edit]

All the stuff about combat medicine is a bit out of place. A separate section for battle TP could be interesting. Will remove it. PhatRita (talk) 23:33, 17 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
