Oldest building in the US?
I know it's an import, but can anyone find any older buildings in the US, either imported or not? 192.12.88.49 (talk) 15:51, 5 October 2012 (UTC)
additional met info
forenote: Met Dendur pro's pls review your own booklet referred to next below and correct the article as ... discussed .... some few years after the temple of dendur opened at met, I visited and bought a met produced pamphlet with more info about the temple; the pamphlet had black back ground color with temple foto on cover .... the point of this note is that in this booklet ... it mentions that the pharaoh then (at the time of the temple) was last pharaoh of Egypt , pharaoh Kuphar ... father of the two twin sons mentioned in the article (who drowned in the 'river') ... and these were from the tribe called the blemie/blemye ... So on the temple walls, the referenced cartouches saying only 'pharaoh' which this article interprets to be Caesar Augustus ... but in fact, the pharaoh meant is Pharoah Kuphar ... SO, in following all this, interpretations and meanings of the temple itself and its wall texts, then CHANGE to be PREDICTIVE (down to now, today) and the temple becomes, a 2000 year old oracle of NOW. ! 24.44.215.132 (talk) 08:31, 20 May 2016 (UTC) reelfayrowwillybobsr ; )
Italicized Title
Why is the title of this article italicized as if this were a work of art? The Parthenon isn’t italicized inRublamb (talk) 05:32, 19 September 2022 (UTC) its article. The Sphinx isn’t. Stonehenge isn’t! I just don’t understand why “Temple of Dendur” is italicized. Goddale120 (talk) 13:53, 26 March 2022 (UTC)
- I am guessing the difference is that this building is displayed as a work of art in a museum collection. The other structures you mentioned are still in their original location. That being said, I would change it back to a normal font if I knew how.
- I checked with the experts. The artwork infobox automatically puts the title of the article in italic. The solution was to add code to the infobox: |italic title=no However, this article should have a building infobox which would also solve the problem. Rublamb (talk) 21:49, 20 September 2022 (UTC)
