hmm... this is more of a broadcaster's tool, not something a viewer can use.
Notable uses of telop:
- Sports - the logos of teams and scores are displayed on telop before broadcast
- Weather - a combo of telop + blue screen
- Japanese variety/comedy shows - Japanese variety and comedy shows make extensive use of telop.

Previous Edit
[edit]I didn't want to completely erase the previous edit on this topic, but it was almost entirely the memories of someone who had worked a Telop machine. Unfortunately, that's not a verifiable source, and I think the poster also had a fuzzy memory and got a number of the facts wrong. Therefore, I have reformatted the article.
