This is in the West Bank

[edit]

Too put it in both Israel and the Palestinian territories is wrong, it is a part of the West Bank and that is not in Israel. This is very clear and otherwise it is a violation of WP:NPOV. This is why we don't put Israeli settlements and other places in the West Bank under categories that says it is in Israel. --IRISZOOM (talk) 19:57, 4 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

West Bank is a term used to avoid POV. It is acertain area, it is not synonymous with Palestinian territories or State of Palestine. The area can be regarded as either Israeli or Palestinian (or Jordanian...). Wikipedia has no view on this (nor do I). It is, as they say, disputed. At any rate the place is de facto in Israel: if you steal its antiquities, you have an issue with Israeli police. To the point, if there is a populated Category:Archaeological sites in the West Bank, that would be best. Turns out there is. :) trespassers william (talk) 20:27, 4 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
It is a part of the Palestinian territories or Palestine, along with Gaza Strip. It can't be regarded as Israeli too. Wikipedia is based on facts. That Israel controls the area makes no difference, as they also controls the area of Israeli settlements but that still doesn't make it a part of Israel. It is not "disputed" but regarded as Israeli-occupied territories.
Yes, there is a category for that but it is still important to know this. NPOV and being based on facts is essential. --IRISZOOM (talk) 20:53, 4 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
