Political Suppression

[edit]

Obscene omission of human Right concerns raised during Tedros time as minister of health in Ethiopia, concerns that persist with horrific atrocities committed against the ethnic minority Tigray people to this day. 24.113.192.29 (talk) 17:43, 3 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Any reliable sources, please? BushelCandle 18:28, 25 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
These are some of the human rights concerns raised not just when he was Minister of Health but also during his tenure as Minister of Foreign Affairs.

- Why has this not changed? Are wikipedia gatekeeping the article and not letting this be shown? Op was asked for sources, and provided them. But yet the article is squeaky clean and Tedros never had any controversies. I find this hard to believe. 94.197.251.64 (talk) — Preceding undated comment added 22:25, 13 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Tedros's legacy of Ethiopia's Healthcare staffing problems.

[edit]

I tried to add to the page about the problems of flood and retain method implemented by Tedros to solve Ethiopia's healthcare staffing problems and the consequences should be included. It's explained in this article https://addisstandard.com/op-ed-the-flood-and-retain-strategy-and-the-future-of-ethiopian-doctors/ — Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.242.224.93 (talk) 21:02, 7 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

That's an opinion piece (WP:RSOPINION) and does not mention Tedros. —Mx. Granger (talk · contribs) 21:09, 7 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Here is an article about the 'flood' and 'retain' strategy when implementation was beginning while he was Minister of Health. https://www.thenewhumanitarian.org/news/2012/08/14/surge-doctors-strengthen-health-system
Another article about the resulting effects: https://addisstandard.com/feature-analysis-a-national-paradox-ethiopia-struggles-with-shortage-of-physicians-while-physicians-struggle-to-find-employment/
A study done by the Ethiopian Medical Women's Association about the unemployment of doctors in Ethiopia. https://awib.org.et/newsite/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/FOCUS-Qualitative-Survey-Report-EMeWA-Unemployment-of-Physicians-in-Ethiopia-Nov-2020.pdf 129.242.224.93 (talk) 21:42, 7 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Two of those sources still don't mention Tedros. The one from The New Humanitarian quotes him repeatedly, though, and could be used as a source for his views. —Mx. Granger (talk · contribs) 23:03, 7 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The articles that don't mention him by name describe the consequences of the 'flood' he implemented as stated in The New Humanitarian article. 129.242.224.93 (talk) 08:54, 8 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Are there any sources that connect the unemployment etc. to Tedros? If not, this seems like original synthesis to me. —Mx. Granger (talk · contribs) 09:53, 8 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Some references to Tedros as "covid stooge"?

[edit]

I was just on the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/COVID-19_pandemic page and when I hover over Tedros' name in the "Etymology" section, the pop up says "Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus the Chinese covid stooge is an Ethiopian public health official, health researcher...". I don't see the reference to "Chinese covid stooge" in the article, not sure how it is coming up or how to remove it, hoping someone here who knows more about wikipedia can fix this? @Rapidnoname: It was a piece of vandalism added to this article a few hours ago: [1]. Sometimes this stuff gets cached for the page previews. I've just purged the Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus article, which I think should fix the problem. Please let me know if you see it again. —Mx. Granger (talk · contribs) 01:17, 6 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
