Some old friends, most of whom are now nearing "retirement age", have spoken to me of being classmates of Ted Field at East Anchorage High School (we're talking 40+ years ago). It's unclear if any RS material exists which discusses his time in Alaska apart from the context of his mother and stepfather or the context of the Anchorage Daily News. There's actually quite a few sources there. Some mention, though not in any great detail, that his trust fund actually kept the paper afloat from 1968 to 1976, and that the withdrawal of these monies had a lot to do with the McClatchy sale. All I can say is that the ADN was evidently in very bad shape when I lived a block away from their offices in 1978, and that you can find old ADN editions at Google Newspapers which clearly contain the name Ted Field listed as the paper's publisher on the masthead.
I don't know if the other thing I wanted to mention is any easier to resolve/verify. I was watching a YouTube clip, which contained the end credits of an episode of Dungeons & Dragons. Among the credits was listed "Teddy Field III" as a voice talent. This is likewise reflected in the article I link to. Is this the same person? Can this be verified one way or the other?
