No, the official English translation is "Technical University of Madrid" [1][2], and the guidelines also recommend putting always the acronym, e.g. "Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM)" or "Technical University of Madrid (UPM)" (yes, that's correct, the Spanish acronym also when using the English translation). AFAIK, "Polytechnic" is used for other kind of education. --surueña 08:04, 12 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Names of the Schools

[edit]

(forgive me, I'm new in editing)As the new European Higher Education Area project is being implemented in this university, some of the schools are being joined, some are disapearing, and mostly all of them are being renamed. What is the best thing to do? Do we change the name of them all, or is it better to start writting about the university within the European Higher Education Area? Mike Hardy (talk) 01:54, 4 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

the best in spain?

[edit]

your source is el mundo newspaper.not very objective.and in 2013 and 2015 the university of granada was ranked number 1 better than madrid buy ETS harvard rankstats..Harvard asked 100 top companies in spain and europe where telecos work which school THEY preferred.the winner was granada in both 2013 and 2015...why...best prep for the real world of problem solving on the fly..best at innovation team work. more women engineers than madrid and cartagena together. and best knowledge of IT programs..granada is a hippy city and harvard joked that students loike steve jobs go there while bill gates types go to madrid. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.139.193.163 (talk) 09:29, 25 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
