Teatre Victòria in September 2022
Teatre Victòria in September 2022
  • ... that the Teatre Victòria (pictured) in Barcelona had its origins in 1900 as a wooden pavillion inaugurated by the brothers Ricardo and Manuel Soriano?
    • ALT1: ... that despite losing viewers during the COVID-19 pandemic, El Mago Pop's show Nada es imposible at the Teatre Victòria (pictured) became the most watched show in the world during the pandemic? Source: [2] "El Mago Pop logró el récord de público en el mundo durante la pandemia"
    • ALT2: ... that Ricardo Soriano, one of the founders of the Teatre Victòria (pictured) in Barcelona, was friends with the leader of the newly established Republican Party? Source: [3] "Ricardo Soriano fue el primero en ver la posibilidad de hacer negocio y entabló amistad con el líder del recién instaurado Partido Republicano, lo que le llevó a conseguir una mayor repercusión."

    • Comment: I think this would be a good article to include a DYK nomination, it has some interesting history.
Second hook – It is an interesting fact in my opinion but seems much more focused on the illusionist El Mago Pop instead.
Third hook – "Republican Party" is probably referring either to the Republican Union Party (Partido de Unión Republicana) or Republican Party (1913) (Partido Republicano). But I am not quite sure.

General: Article is new enough and long enough

Policy compliance:

  • Adequate sourcing: No - There's quite a few paragraphs with uncited information, or where the entire paragraph is uncited. It needs more inline citations before it can pass a DYK review.
  • Neutral: No - Includes some edge cases of non-neutrality, describing works as "important" and a show as a "disaster"
  • Free of copyright violations, plagiarism, and close paraphrasing: Yes

Hook eligibility:

  • Cited: Yes
  • Interesting: Yes
  • Other problems: No - Given the timeline, the Republican party in question is almost certainly the Republican Union Party.
Image: Image is freely licensed, used in the article, and clear at 100px.
QPQ: None required.

Overall: I think the hooks are mostly good, and I particularly liked ALT2, but the article needs work before it can pass a DYK review. In particular, there's many paragraphs that are completely or largely uncited. As this is your first review, I'm happy to give you some time to work on the article. Feel free to ping me if you need any guidance or if you address these issues and want me to take another look. Grnrchst (talk) 10:32, 6 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Grnrchst just notifying you that the nominator has been indefinitely blocked, and thus I am rejecting this nomination. ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 00:28, 9 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Grnrchst Just letting you know that if you plug the foreign-language web pages into Google translate, you can spot copyvio that programs such as Earwig won't. I hope you find that useful! GreenLipstickLesbian (talk) 02:33, 14 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
