Discussion
[edit]- Any additional comments:
- The name of the car reads as "Prima", even though it's marketed with the nonstandard spelling "Pr1ma". According to Wikipedia:Manual of Style (trademarks), we should use standard English spelling rules even if the trademark owner considers the nonstandard spelling "official". Sources also use "Prima": [1], [2], [3], etc. Jafeluv (talk) 13:05, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
- What great purpose does this serve? The manufacturer calls the car Tata Pr1ma (which must be mentioned in the article) and there is a redirect from a normalized spelling of "Tata Prima". I don't care. Secondarywaltz (talk) 14:04, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
- The purpose is standardization. Dekimasuよ! 02:39, 2 July 2009 (UTC)
- Oppose I oppose the move. I feel the article should be what the manufacturer calls it. @Secondarywaltz, Pininfarina is NOT the manufacturer, just the designer. Tata is the manufacturer... --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 12:36, 2 July 2009 (UTC)
- Support This is a no-brainer. The current name violates WP:MOSTM (which says we go by standard English, NOT what the trademark owner wants us to use), so there is no argument that will stop this from being moved. TJ Spyke 23:35, 2 July 2009 (UTC)
- Comment: Fine do what you want. Like I could care less. Whetehr I say yes OR no, it still Is going to get renamed...--Rsrikanth05 (talk) 11:05, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
- BE BOLD and somebody do this. I want to see if the article needs edited or if the move is done properly after all this brave talk. Secondarywaltz (talk) 11:23, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
- Done. Jafeluv (talk) 12:18, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
- Very Good! But there has to be a mention that the vehicle is maketed as "Pr1ma". Again - what is the point of moving this article if that is not explained. There has been talk here about technicalities in naming, but an encyclopedia should inform not obscure facts. It is your responsibility to retain this - otherwise this article is about something else. Secondarywaltz (talk) 14:00, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
Whose responsibilty? --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 14:49, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
- Mine. You're right, the official spelling should definitely be stated in the beginning. I've added it now. Jafeluv (talk) 21:36, 4 July 2009 (UTC)
- Thank you. I didn't know where to place it properly. Secondarywaltz (talk) 21:38, 4 July 2009 (UTC)
