'Double oblique hyphens'
[edit]To describe Lewis's unusual punctuation device as 'double oblique hyphens' begs the question of what they actually are. They are certainly not oblique, either as printed or as written in his original manuscripts. Nor are they hyphens. They are best described neutrally as 'parallel lines' (Lewis's own description). Interpretation of their supposed function as 'painterly strokes' surely ought to be referenced - as should Dr. John Constable's counter-argument. 195.137.62.56 (talk) 11:37, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
