Non-novelised serials
[edit]I assume that Resurrection and Revelation were never novelised because of rights issues with Terry Nation, any one know for sure?Tim! (talk) 21:30, 16 July 2005 (UTC)
- This was indeed the reason - I've added details to the article. Angmering 18:46, 15 August 2005 (UTC)
Listing of novelisations
[edit]Would a listing of novelisations be appropriate or just plain redundant to the episodes they were based upon? DrWho42 04:05, 31 May 2006 (UTC)
- In this case, probably redundant. Any significant differences can (and have been, in some cases) noted within the story article itself. --khaosworks (talk • contribs) 04:28, 31 May 2006 (UTC)
Douglas Adams
[edit]I clearly remember seeing a reference in either Doctor Who magazine or some other publication that Douglas Adams was on record as wanting to novelise his episodes, but that his commitments to Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy prevented this from occurring. I have added this to the article, but have also included a citation request in hopes someone can provide a source. I think I also read that due to the success of Hitchhiker's, Adams' asking price became too high for Target's budget. I did NOT include this in the article as it might be more speculation than fact. 68.146.41.232 (talk) 15:06, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
- The reason that I heard was that his contract with Pan Books forbade him from being published by any other publisher. --Redrose64 (talk) 18:18, 18 November 2009 (UTC)
BBC Books reprints of Target DrWho novelisations
[edit]It would appear BBC Books have begun reprinting Target DrWho novels, starting with the earliest of them, as of July 2011. Would that be something to mention here? Bookmark and Share BBC Books: Classic Novelisation reprints Nomad Of Norad (talk) 19:07, 1 July 2011 (UTC)
Past or current tense?
[edit]seems active enough as an imprint, publishing new books not just reprints, even if it's just books from Doctor Who.
