while

strip a long narrow piece cut from a sheet material (metal plastic plywood etc)

thus now, substituting from strip

definition of tape is:

something long long and narow narow is raher very very long and very very narow :)

This is to show hypercorective tautology in single language.

A Precursor to Compact Disc?

While the argument could be made that the compact cassette tape was a precursor to the compact disc, I don't believe that "Optical celluloid tape used in movie projectors" (i.e. film) really has anything to do with compact discs at all. Am I wrong?
