Third Election Contest - May, 2009 paragraph with run-on sentence
[edit]Third Election Contest - May, 2009
Can someone rewrite this info into a couple of sentences. I am not familiar with the info itself, and I do not want to mis-state it with a rewrite. Thanks! Carriearchdale (talk) 04:19, 10 June 2014 (UTC)
"The party contested the above said parliamentary election on retrieving the economic sovereignty of Tamil people, supporting Eelam cause of Sri Lankan Tamils, new constitution incorporating the aspirations of people on basis of language, reservation in parliamentary and assembly constituencies and central government posts, on basis of language,etc. "
@Cowlibob @Kavel44 @Mmkatchi
(rest of paragraph)
Theparty felt that all major political parties in Tamil Nadu acted against the interest of Tamil people, more particularly the cause of Sri Lankan Tamils. The DMK and PMK were part of UPA government which supported the Sri Lanka Government and the AIADMK had either kept mum or expressed opinions against the Sri Lankan Tamils interest. Further, Congress, BJP, Communists parties paid only lip service to the cause of Tamil peoples. Therefore, the party contested alone in the General Election to Lok Sabha in 2009.
