Major Revamp of articles relating to Tamil Nadu Legislature
[edit]I think it would be a good idea to move common history of the legislature from Tamil Nadu Legislative Council and Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly to Tamil Nadu Legislature and retain only parts specific to the houses in the respective articles. This will help clean up and copy edit the other two articles. Further In my opinion, I feel that more emphasis should be given to Tamil Nadu Legislature than Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly since Tamil Nadu Legislature is the capable body and the assembly only a part of it. Further expansions to the article should include the law making procedure and list of milestone legislations. Please post your comments on these issues.-- R.Sivanesh ✆ © 19:12, 23 June 2011 (UTC)
- I do not support this idea of merging. Council and assembly have always been clearly different and defined. An accurate timeline in this page should be sufficient to clear any ambiguity which you are welcome to do. --CarTick (talk) 20:33, 23 June 2011 (UTC)
- I did not by any means propose a merger of any of these articles. Even at the end of the revamp I am proposing, there will be three articles to represent the assembly, council and the legislature respectively. What I mean is that for the sake of clarity the common history portion should be moved to Tamil Nadu Legislature. Even now if you observe carefully about 75% of the history present in the assembly and council articles are repetitive. What I am proposing will bring about clarity.-- R.Sivanesh ✆ © 15:58, 24 June 2011 (UTC)
- I am not really sure your proposal will achieve any more clarity. honestly, i dont find it as ambiguous as you do, may be because i spent time reading several books on this topic. it is possible i dont see what you are seeing; i recommend you write all these three revamped articles in your own userspace and let us see if you can prove me wrong. --CarTick (talk) 19:59, 26 June 2011 (UTC)
