pine trees
[edit]The German word for pine tree clearly began with a /d/ in Tacitus' time. I don't see how even the most convoluted path of etymology could get these two words to be related. While we have two scholarly sources writing about it, does it really even deserve mentioning? It's not clear that the first source is even talking about pine trees, anyway. —Soap— 11:05, 29 May 2021 (UTC)
