the first japanese podium was achieved by aguri suzuki in 1990, racing in suzuka, japan. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 201.58.98.98 (talk) 02:48, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, that's what it says in the article: "Sato ... [achieved] the second-ever podium finish for a Japanese driver (after Aguri Suzuki at the 1990 Japanese Grand Prix)". DH85868993 (talk) 03:22, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
Suggested Edit: Future
I've modified the "Future" section to update it with the results of the November test. Could this go into the article?
Sato has taken part in tests at Jerez with Scuderia Toro Rosso, to become a candidate to fill the seat vacated by Sebastian Vettel. He is competing against current Toro Rosso driver Sébastien Bourdais and Red Bull Test Driver Sébastien Buemi for one of the two race seats[1] and, to a lesser extent, also with current Honda driver Rubens Barrichello and GP2 driver Bruno Senna.[2] He first drove on September 18, more than four months since Super Aguri's withdrawal, and tested for the team again for two days in November, setting the fastest time on the 17th[3], 3 tenths ahead of Buemi, and proceeded by setting the second-fastest time on the 18th[4], just ahead of Bourdais, and two tenths ahead of Buemi.
I've tried my best - I hope this meets the standards? MetzMaboo (talk) 20:12, 27 November 2008 (UTC)
- It looks good to me - put it in, by all means!--Diniz(talk) 20:35, 27 November 2008 (UTC)
- I added it, but one of the references doesn't seem to work. The link doesn't end with a suffix, so perhaps that's the reason? Here is it, just in case: http://www.f1technical.net/news/11145 MetzMaboo (talk) 20:46, 27 November 2008 (UTC)
- The link was OK, but the "url=" prefix was missing. I have added it.--Diniz(talk) 20:55, 27 November 2008 (UTC)

Indy 500 Incident
Like Seriously people should this is an wikipedia article not the speculation hour. This article should be balanced on the incident last two revisions have been lopsided. One was pro sato one was pro franchitti. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.215.14.32 (talk) 11:48, 29 May 2012 (UTC)
Template issue
The infobox shows that Sato had 50 starts in the 2012 IndyCar Series. This is clearly incorrect, but I'm not clear why "2012" is showing for overall activity in the IndyCar series that covers multiple years. 72Dino (talk) 18:19, 17 September 2012 (UTC)
- You're right on the starts issue, it's only 49 and i've corrected it, however i'm unsure what you mean as to the other question. BosleyTree (talk) 18:37, 17 September 2012 (UTC)
- There were only 15 races during 2012, so he could not have had 50 (or 49) starts during 2012. The year should be removed from the template so it will show Sato's results over multiple years. 72Dino (talk) 18:42, 17 September 2012 (UTC)
- Ahh yes I see what you mean. However the race start tally is for all race starts regardless of what year it is, if you look at all the other current or former IndyCar drivers it's the same deal. I guess it's done that way to keep track of their career not the current year. BosleyTree (talk) 19:20, 17 September 2012 (UTC)

Formula One section
A while back, a substantial amount of content in the Formula One section was removed because it wasn't sourced. While I understand the reason for removal, this section is pretty much unreadable now, as the paragraphs no longer connect in any logical way. For example, the first paragraph refers to Sato’s 2002 season with Jordan, then the next paragraph opens with "Sato was retained by BAR-Honda for the 2005 season," and “the 2005 car was not as close to the front of the pack as the previous year's design,” with no context as to his signing with the team or the team’s performance the previous year. Even more confusing, the third paragraph refers to his performance at the 2007 Canadian Grand Prix, with no mention of the year (2007) or his team switch (Super Aguri). I think at least the basic contextual info (signed with BAR in 2003, Super Aguri in 2007) should be put back, even if not the other content.63.231.58.234 (talk) 12:07, 14 July 2013 (UTC)
