Family name

[edit]

Is this person's family name "Takao" or "Suzuki"? If it is "Takao", as I suspect, it should be resorted under 'T', not 'S'. Mike Dillon 18:03, September 3, 2005 (UTC)

I did a little googling and found that the "鈴木" at the beginning of "鈴木孝夫" is "Suzuki", not "Takao", so I think the sorting is correct. Perhaps someone who actually knows Japanese should provide a transliteration after the kanji name, which I would guess is "Suzuki Takao"). Mike Dillon 18:12, September 3, 2005 (UTC)
That's right. 'Suzuki' is one of the most popular family name of Japanese. I'd like to add a point that he claims his name should be written as 'Suzuki Takao', not 'Takao Suzuki.' --Tenpa 01:34, 7 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wouldn't 「ことばと文化」 translate as "Words and culture"?I believe the と particle means and,instead of in. Ishikawa Minoru 20:12, 23 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
