"Tower pedestals" question

[edit]

Why are these not called "piers" like in every other bridge? - Denimadept (talk) 09:29, 3 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Sources needed

[edit]

This entire article appears to rely on one source with 3 parts, all about inflation in reporting construction costs. Then, in text, the year meaning “present day” is not specified. The Wikipedia template for putting a cost from a past year into this year’s values specifies what “this year” is. Today, I added a reference to Washington State Department of Transportation in the lead, as to the cost at the time of construction. That source has no date on when it was written. Perhaps the whole article is based on that source alone, the previously unmentioned post by Washington State DOT, but I am guessing on that. More sources are needed, along with copy edits to fix that problem about the unstated present year. - - Prairieplant (talk) 19:25, 1 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Is this article all that necessary?

[edit]

Shouldn’t we just merge this article with the one that covers both modern bridges and add more sources, fixing both problems? Because this article seems pretty unnecessary. OHIO 97876 (talk) 02:40, 31 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, this article is pretty unnecessary, it can be merged into the other Tacoma Narrows Bridge article which covers it all, and more sources can be added. We do not need another article which only covers the westbound side. Waterard water?(talk | contribs) 02:57, 28 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
