How do I add a new section?

[edit]

Gilmore Girls Season 6 Episode 13 references the musical Taboo, so maybe put that under a popular culture subheading? Which I do not know how to do yet. I have the ep and the quote if someone can walk me through it. OmneBonum (talk) 13:59, 24 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Production history is confusing

[edit]

I find the Productions section confusing. It's not clear whether the Broadway production discussed is a new show or whether they moved the London one. There is no mention of when the London production ended and why. Was it a limited run?

I wasn't even clear whether the cast listed was the London or Broadway performance - which is what I was trying to look up. It seemed like the Broadway discussion may have been an aside.

After a lot of Googling it seems like it was the same cast and it moved, but I couldn't confirm it enough to edit and cite. I still don't know why the London ended. My information was mostly garnered through CD track listings. As it is now the section needs work with better sources. -Lciaccio (talk) 17:33, 31 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

______ I saw the Broadway production, and very much enjoyed the score/Broadway Cast Album. Euan Morton and Boy George are the only principal performers, if not only performers, from London to come to Broadway. The musical was completely rewritten in terms of structure and many principal characters. For valid information on any Broadway show, you can check out ibdb.com, which is owned by The Broadway League. Here is the official page for the Broadway production of Taboo: [1]

It looks very much like the original London book was used for the 2012 revival based on the song list and characters listed--assuming that info is correct. This is my very first post on here. Apologies for any faux pas, should I make one.JohnRaymondBarker (talk) 08:18, 11 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I added information in the paragraph about the original 2002 production cited by an article in The Guardian from 2002. Hopefully this will help clarify that Luke Evans was not in the Broadway production (I had to delete his name from the Broadway list) but was in that earlier one on the West End. I am making cautious changes as I find information, but I do hold a MFA from the University of Houston in Theatre, particularly musical theatre. Not saying that to be rude, only to help assure anyone who may doubt my knowledge of this field JohnRaymondBarker (talk) 07:16, 16 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

See Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard#Suspected hacked account. Page was extensively edited by User:EVITANDY who has now been blocked for adding nonsense. — Alexis Jazz (talk or ping me) 17:56, 10 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks @Alexis Jazz: Specifically, I removed this unsourced section. I don't know how much of it might or might not be true, but the same editor has been making nonsense edits elsewhere. Alexander 'Beef' Stewart (deleted, so sorry, admin only) from back around the same time seems like obvious fabrication. And, curiously, it credits an Andrew Hilton while the removed section from this article credits an Andrew Holton. And then recently, after a long period of inactivity, the account was used for adding nonsense like this. That led to suspicions of a hacked account, but I think intermittent vandalism/fabrication seems a likely alternative. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 20:32, 10 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, and if anyone knows enough about it to trim the plot section, that would be a big improvement too. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 20:33, 10 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
