This article's title says, "DELETE ME" under WP:INDISCRIMINATE and WP:NOT#STATS. Tables of raw data are not the point of Wikipedia. Even if fully referenced, it appears that this article would just a table of statistics taken from another source (I use "taken" in the innocent sense, not to suggest that it would be in violation of copyright.) It appears, therefore, that it should be deleted. Better to put it out of its misery now than later, when more time has been invested in it.
I can imagine an article being developed around the subject -- "the fact that this computation takes x times longer than that means that...." and so forth, but that would not be a mere table. . . . . Jim . . . . Jameslwoodward (talk • contribs) 11:15, 4 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think it is indiscriminate information - it potentially summarises computational information in a way that would be useful for lookup in an area of interest in cryptography. The issues lie elsewhere: there should be references; and the specifications for the calculation of computational cost should be explained (and shown to be standard in the area). There may in fact be a need to merge some of the related articles, to give proper coverage (and this table would then appear as a summary). Assuming the summary has no value seems to me to be coming at the topic from the wrong direction. Charles Matthews (talk) 12:19, 9 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The editors behind mathematics articles on Wikipedia are rarely enthusiastic about providing accessible introductions to the vast majority of humanity who generally do not enjoy deep mathematics, nor cryptography, nor have any exposure to the fields at all, whether educationally and professionally, or, in some other way.
