This redirect
[edit]The redirect should stay a redirect. TNA and Impact are two names for the same thing. A disruptive editor keeps turning it back into a poorly written article. Oiyarbepsy (talk) 09:43, 6 January 2021 (UTC)
- Agreed. This talk page was a redirect because the article redirect was created by a page move when the title was renamed. As has been discussed here and elsewhere, Moose parading around with the old belt and along himself the champion when he's not (and has been outright stated to not be by Impact officials) does not warrant a separate article. oknazevad (talk) 16:44, 6 January 2021 (UTC)
Previous champions
[edit]Since it's already been disputed, no, this title does not have claim to the old champions history. That belongs to the Impact World Championship. And all of this hemming and hawing and navel gazing is meaningless anyway since there's already a unification match between Moose and Rich Swann announced for Sacrifice. oknazevad (talk) 16:45, 24 February 2021 (UTC)
- I'm tempted to put a RFD as this page is literally just a stub at the moment. There is no need for this page, it could literally go as a footnote on the other pages relating to the Impact World Championship. retched (talk) 21:50, 24 February 2021 (UTC)
Rename
[edit]Maybe it's too soon, since Swann and Moose will fight for the titles, but... do you think we should rename the article? The current Impact title was known as TNA World Heavyweight Championship. Many big names won in the past, like Sting, Angle, Styles and they same name would be misleading. Since this is a different title (as we know), maybe we can do a similar thing like WWE Cruiserweight Championship (1996–2007), WWE Women's Championship (1956–2010) or BJW Junior Heavyweight Championship (2017–present) and rename the article as TNA World Heavyweight Championship (2021-present). --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 13:07, 1 March 2021 (UTC)
- I mean, TNA World Heavyweight Championship as a redirect to Impact World Championship and TNA World Heavyweight Championship (2021-present) as the name of the article. --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 15:33, 1 March 2021 (UTC)

TNA World Heavyweight Championship → TNA World Heavyweight Championship (2021) / also redirect TNA World Heavyweight Championship to Impact Unified World Championship – The original TNA World Heavyweight Championship is the Primary topic. The original title was the World Title for TNA for 10 years, also during the time where the company had more exposure. The current title was active for just one year and was unified yesterday. Also, uses the same format with other articles BJW Junior Heavyweight Championship (1998–2002) or WWE Cruiserweight Championship (1996–2007) --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 11:10, 14 March 2021 (UTC)
- Agree - It's tricky for me though and a little up in the air because on Impact Wrestling Scott D'Amore and the announcers refer to the TNA World Heavyweight Championship lineage as separate from the Impact World Championship mentioning The TNA World Heavyweight Championship dates back to the first ever TNA World Heavyweight Champion Kurt Angle - Matt Striker. When Scott D'Amore made it an official championship he said That TNA World Heavyweight Championship means alot to me, TNA is a company I helped build it's history means a lot to me. seems to acknowledge the fact that it's separate from the Impact World Championship. So can you really say it's history starts with Moose? That it's a completely different separate championship from the original TNA World Heavyweight Championship's lineage? I personally believe at this point no it's been established and referenced many times to hold the same history as the original but in the same sense the Impact World Championship at one point had the same referred to history as the TNA World Heavyweight Championship which makes it one big mess of history acknowledgment. - Support. The original title is the Impact World Championship. It's a continuous lineage, with only the typical vacancies in its history. It was never retired or otherwise discontinued, so it has the history undisputedly. Moose's belt was part of one storyline for one champion. That they hyped the storyline by officially recognizing Moose for like two weeks and cut a promo doesn't change that. oknazevad (talk) 13:05, 14 March 2021 (UTC)
- Move to TNA World Heavyweight Championship (2020–2021) as it was first awarded last year. Agree with nom on the rest. 162.208.168.92 (talk) 15:14, 14 March 2021 (UTC)
- I have no problem with the 2020-2021 thing. I used 2021 since it was declared official in 2021, but 2020-2021 also works. --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 19:37, 14 March 2021 (UTC)
- Support moving to TNA World Heavyweight Championship (2020–2021) since (2021) implies that the championship was only active that year.--67.70.100.30 (talk) 02:02, 15 March 2021 (UTC)
- Why was there even a need for a discussion for this move? Just be bold and do it. Makes the most sense for a title that was only sanctioned for not even a month. One part of me doesn't even think we need a whole separate article when there was really only one champion. I kinda look at this like that CM Punk situation with the WWE Championship when he left and came back. There were two WWE titles for a short bit and both were official. I can also see why we would want this separate though. --JDC808 ♫ 02:48, 15 March 2021 (UTC)
