[edit]Would someone clean this mess up?
The article contains several false facts and errors.
1. The S60/V70R model have NOTHING to do with the T5-engine. The 300bhp engine is completely was completely new and designed for just those cars.
Earlier models of v70r have some things in common with the T5, but the effect is not controlled by the ECU, and therefore
"The performance of the T5 engine is quite high, and as a result, the amount of power accessible to the driver is limited by the ECU, or Engine Control Unit. The largest amount of power accessible as standard from this engine is on the S60R, which produces around 300bhp."
is a completely wrong statement.
2. The 850R(manual gearbox) with 250hp is of yearmodel -96 and not -95. And this engine(as the newer R-models) is NOT a T5. It uses other mechanical parts to increase the effect(from 226 to 250) and not the ECU.
3. 850 with 240hp is ONLY called T5-R(the R model came -96). This version of the T5-engine however, uses a "overboost" function to increase effect from 226-240, but this overboost only lasts for ~30 sec. Thats the difference between the T5-R and R engine.
- Okay then, please do kindly make the above corrections and contributions to the article if you so wish.Vwozone 21:00, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
Changed the article to not read the engines are made by Ford. With the exception of the SI6 (which is made in England), all the five cylinders are made in Skövde, Sweden, as the List of Volvo engines correctly states. In addition, why is there a T5 engine page in the first place? This seems to be covered by aforementioned page already.Justinslink (talk)
Also changed around a few of the engines. The Light-Pressure and High Pressure Turbos on the S60 2001-2004 are not the same designation. Try the volvo owners info page on their website for the engine designations and bore/stroke. The 2001 S60 T5 had the B5234T3 and the S60 2.4T had the B5244T3 (not a T5 engine, mind you.)Justinslink (talk)
