Requested move 25 April 2022
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
The result of the move request was: consensus to move the album page to T57 (album), per the discussion below. In addition, no consensus in the current discussion that the tank is the primary topic for the title "T57", resulting in moving the disambiguation page to the plain title. – The album is not the primary topic, and I'm not sure there is one. T57 (tank) receives more views by almost an order of magnitude. Schierbecker (talk) 02:20, 25 April 2022 (UTC)
- Support per nomination. There are five entries listed upon the T57 (disambiguation) page, with no indication that the 14-and-a-half-year-old album has left such a mark on music history that it overwhelms the combined notability of the other four entries. —Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 03:25, 25 April 2022 (UTC)
- Support 1st, oppose 2nd Tank is obvious primary topic and should be moved to T57 instead. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ (ᴛ) 13:41, 25 April 2022 (UTC)
- Support 1st, oppose 2nd per Zxcvbnm; going back one year, the tank consistently hovers around 50 daily views, while the views for the gospel album can usually be counted without running out of fingers on one hand. No contest. Carguychris (talk) 14:00, 25 April 2022 (UTC)
- FYI @Zxcvbnm: I just made a proposal to move T57 (tank) to T57. Carguychris (talk) 14:12, 25 April 2022 (UTC)
- There doesn't need to be a separate proposal. If enough people state the desire here then it will be done without a second discussion so I suggest removing it. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ (ᴛ) 14:13, 25 April 2022 (UTC)
- OK, I yanked it, we'll wait and see where this one goes. Carguychris (talk) 14:16, 25 April 2022 (UTC)
- Actually, according to WP:RMCI#NOTOTHERPAGES, moving the other article should be a separate proposal, since it is not within the scope of the original request. That rule doesn't always seem to be strictly enforced, but that's what it says. — BarrelProof (talk) 23:06, 25 April 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks, I was unaware there was a formal rule, and it makes sense; I'll reinstate it. Carguychris (talk) 23:15, 25 April 2022 (UTC)

- If the tank is to be the primary topic, I'd still prefer some natural disambiguation like T57 tank. Actually, better would be a combination T57 and T58 tanks page. Schierbecker (talk) 14:58, 25 April 2022 (UTC)
- Comment: @Schierbecker: et al, it turns out that community consensus at WP:MILMOS#TANKS calls for the type of vehicle to be included in articles about tanks, although this guidance seems to have been discarded for numerous articles about modern main battle tanks (e.g. M1 Abrams, T-80). I'm not a tank nerd, so I don't have a strong opinion, but user commentary on my separate proposal to move the tank page seems to be trending negative. Carguychris (talk) 15:17, 27 April 2022 (UTC)
- That's an odd guideline! It appears to have been added in 2018, and I can't seem to find any discussion of it. Schierbecker (talk) 20:00, 27 April 2022 (UTC)
- I've started a discussion here. Schierbecker (talk) 20:13, 27 April 2022 (UTC)
- It also struck me as a peculiar guideline, and now that I've had time to check some more military vehicle articles, it seems to be widely disregarded. Carguychris (talk) 18:22, 28 April 2022 (UTC)

- Strong support the tank gets more views (939) than the album (48)[[1]] and the tank probably has more long-term significance. Crouch, Swale (talk) 17:57, 25 April 2022 (UTC)
- Support clearly no primary here. In ictu oculi (talk) 07:29, 28 April 2022 (UTC)
- Support. No primary topic. -- Necrothesp (talk) 13:11, 28 April 2022 (UTC)
- Comment. To those who think the T57 (tank) article should be the PTOPIC and moved to "T57", you should know that the community consensus in the guideline at WP:MILMOS#TANKS guides us to name that article T57 heavy tank, the title to which it has been moved. P.I. Ellsworth - ed. put'r there 04:13, 29 April 2022 (UTC)
- Support first, oppose second, and redirect to tank The tank is the obvious primary topic, so T57 should be redirected there. BilCat (talk) 05:29, 29 April 2022 (UTC)
- Support first proposal, oppose the second, and agree that the T57 heavy tank article is the PTOPIC, so the "T57" title will redirect to the tank article, all per editor BilCat. Since I closed the move request on the tank's talk page, some editors might consider me too involved to close this request. So I thought I'd add my 2-cents to the survey. Should also be noted that when the T57 becomes a redirect, its backlinks will have to be dabbed – just a few of them need fixin', though. P.I. Ellsworth - ed. put'r there 00:36, 1 May 2022 (UTC)
- Support, guns and roses, can't discriminate between tanks and albums. --StellarNerd (talk) 20:00, 1 May 2022 (UTC)
