The result of the move request was: Consensus to move to T. Natarajan as primary topic (non-admin closure) BegbertBiggs (talk) 10:46, 22 October 2020 (UTC)
Thangarasu Natarajan → T Natarajan – T Natarajan is the clear WP:COMMONNAME for him, see Cricinfo, IPL, Hindustan Times. Cricinfo tends to use players' full names, so the fact they use T Natarajan makes it clear to me that it's his common name. Joseph2302 (talk) 08:34, 14 October 2020 (UTC)
- Support and comment Not sure what the exact MOS is here over an initial, but I'd also support moving him to T. Natarajan, and then moving the politician's page to T. Natarajan (politician), with the cricketer being the WP:PT. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 14:06, 14 October 2020 (UTC)
- Comment MOS:INITIALS says:
An initial is capitalized and is followed by a full point (period) and a space (e.g. J. R. R. Tolkien), unless: the person demonstrably has a different, consistently preferred style for his or her own name; and an overwhelming majority of reliable sources use that variant style for that person
, so if it were to be moved, then it should be to "T. Natarajan" as default. This discussion should therefore also be listed at T. Natarajan as "T Natarajan" and "T. Natarajan" should both link to the same person, which is not the case at the moment. I know little of Indian politics so have no way of assessing the relative notability of the 2 people to decide if there should be a DAB or hatnote from PT to other person. Spike 'em (talk) 10:04, 15 October 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks Spike. Going off the current content, for now it would seem the cricketer is the WP:PT. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 10:44, 15 October 2020 (UTC)
- Comment. If moved it should be to T. Natarajan. -- Necrothesp (talk) 10:36, 16 October 2020 (UTC)
- Support but T. Natarajan preferred per MOS:INITIALS, and the politician's page be moved to T. Natarajan (politician). --Ab207 (talk) 16:18, 16 October 2020 (UTC)
- Support only if it is moved to T. Natarajan.TamilMirchi (talk) 05:22, 17 October 2020 (UTC)
