Definition missing
[edit]This article has several issues:
- In taxobox of Escherichia virus T4 that virus is assigned to a subfamily Tevenvirinae. Apparently this is a duplicate lemma and should be merged with this one here.
- Is 'Tevenvirinae' respectively 'T-even bacteriophages' a taxon registered by the ICTV (int. commotte on taxonomy of viruses'?
- What is the difference between (subfamily) 'T-even bacteriophages' (aka Tevenvirinae) and genus T4likevirus? In other words, is there a virus in the subfamily that is not member of the genus T4likevirus?
Please could anyone clarify/merge? Kind regards --Ernsts (talk) 06:09, 25 December 2018 (UTC)

Agree on merging
[edit]I agree that this article and Escherichia virus T4 and the several other similar articles on the T-even viruses should all be merged. There really is only one T Even virus family, unique in its morphology and injection/lytic lifecycle. Having a number of similar articles spreads out the information in a way that makes it less likely to be seen by those who look it up in WP. It has been several months since merging was proposed, and over 10 years that the need to merge was evident; let's do it already. David Spector (talk) 16:40, 12 March 2019 (UTC)
- Comment on merging. Whilst I don't disagree that these articles contain similar info, actually merging them properly is a work of days of careful editing. No-one is likely to do it. Espresso Addict (talk) 05:41, 25 January 2020 (UTC)
