[edit]It should be noted that the term System Wide Information Management (SWIM) is not just related to an FAA activity. The notion has been identified nearly a decade ago in the EUROCONTROL ATM2000+ Strategy, and has also been used in the ICAO Global Concept. Coordination is taking place between the FAA and EUROCONTROL to refine the definition of SWIM and to work towards interoperable implementations of this concept. The FAA SWIM programme covers the FAA's current activities to come to such an implementation.
