[edit]Good afternoon,
As part of a college course, I am suppose to make improvements to this article. Currently, the lack of citations or references is troublesome, and the distinction made between various synthetic viruses is not accurate to modern production methods. I would like to restructure the article, incorporate the old material, and present it in a more holistic and informative ways. I believe the two current sections could be changed to "Constructing De novo Synthetic Viruses" and "Applications for Synthetic Virology." While incorporating the connection to other articles and retaining information (like the Polio virus and bacteriophage), I hope not to replace but rather to update this article. The prose for the proposed sections can be found in my sandbox for perusal.
If anyone is viewing this article, or has any comments/suggestions for improvements, please let me know.
