Review/Edit

[edit]

I first read over the page and fixed some minor grammar and citation errors. I also added a sub section on pheromone trapping. This fit in well with the rest of the subsections in “Attempts to control S. myopaeformis,” and the topic showed up many times in my research of the species. If I were to suggest a section to work more on, it would be mating. Other topics related to mating that may be useful to put on the page would be mating patterns, peak mating times, mating rate, etc. Y.shin (talk) 23:13, 4 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The article looks polished with good general coverage of topics for the S. myopaeformis species. I added three photos to help provide visual aids of some of the topics in this article (in Morphology and Enemies). I also fixed capitalization issues with the headings in order to abide by the Wikipedia standards for headings. For a few of your references, I added links to the sources. One suggestion I have for consideration is expanding the introduction (overview) section to include a few brief details that will catch the reader’s eye. For example, you could include a small fact about its pest status. Also, it would be nice to add perhaps egg appearance to the section about eggs in “Life cycle.” Your section on “Attempts to control S. myopaeformis was very interesting to read! I added some links to uncommon words or words that could use some clarity. I also fixed minor typos throughout your article and made small changes to wording. I added a missing caption to one of the photos as well. I have some suggestions that may help improve your article. It would be nice to see more information under the “Adult” subsection of the life cycle to balance out. A suggestion would be to divide the “Morphology” section and move the relevant descriptions to the sections on caterpillars, pupae, and adults under “Life cycle.” Also, in “Attempts to control S. myopaeformis,” I think it would help with clarity to change the “Other species” title into something more descriptive, such as “Biological control.” Finally, in “Trunk coatings,” I am unsure on what you mean at the end. You say that the oils showed the greatest effect out of the three materials, but aren’t the three materials listed all oils anyways? Or is “lime” referring to lime juice? The overview should be more descriptive, and cover all the topics that were covered in the article. There were also the citation links missing in the subspecies section, even though the citations were actually written in. The order of the sections should follow that of the butterfly outline. I also added some additional Wikipedia links in the article. There were a lot of interesting topics in the article, like the interactions with humans, but if possible an important section to add would be the host-plants of the species. This article is very well written! I added a reference and some facts to the pupa and adult sections. Additionally, I made some grammar edits. Meganav (talk) 29 October 2017 (UTC)
