The result of the move request was: no consensus. It looks like the move may have been premature based on the discussion. If worried about changing scope, another option is to draft the changes in userspace and seek input before publishing (closed by non-admin page mover) ASUKITE 15:15, 9 August 2024 (UTC)
Syn and anti addition → Syn and anti addition and elimination – Inclusion of syn and anti elimination reactions. Jeaucques Quœure (talk) 15:52, 1 August 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose: I do not see the content related to elimination reactions here (object to changing title out-of-sync with what the article itself covers)--would need to see more specific explanation of exactly what content would be added and how (like a draft/mockup). And it's not clear that the elimination-related topics are similar enough to be discussed in a unified manner anyway. DMacks (talk) 09:34, 7 August 2024 (UTC)
- @DMacks: Read the last lead paragraph. Jeaucques Quœure (talk) 10:45, 7 August 2024 (UTC)
- An uncited statement in the lead that is not summarizing or otherwise based on cited content in the article is not acceptable in an article. WP:V is policy, and the word "elimination" does not appear anywhere else beyond that short paragraph. DMacks (talk) 10:57, 7 August 2024 (UTC)
- For the new content to be added, the article title needs to be about the content in the first place. Also, there are tons of verifiable and reliable sources about the aforesaid. Jeaucques Quœure (talk) 11:16, 7 August 2024 (UTC)
- Why? Add the content then request the page move on the basis that the title no longer matches the content. Polyamorph (talk) 16:15, 8 August 2024 (UTC)
- If only I could but owing to my limited expertise I need help from other editors in expanding the article. Jeaucques Quœure (talk) 16:41, 8 August 2024 (UTC)
