It's been pointed out to me that whatever the first page of the score may claim, the 3rd flute sometimes takes piccolo (ie, there isn't a separate fourth player flutist; see page 2) and the 3rd clarinetist takes E-flat clarinetist at certain points of the score rather than there being four separate clarinet parts; also (to quote my correspondent, who is responsible for part of the Dutch page on this symphony) "For the premiere Foreman and Parlett mentioned the London Philharmonic Orchestra (my emphasis) at the Royal Philharmonic Society." - as the Royal Philharmonic _Orchestra_ did not exist until 1946.
