Closure Dates
[edit]The closure dates given in the article are wrong, but unfortunately I do not know the correct dates.
The article says that Peebles-Symington was closed to passengers on 6 June 1950, and that "final closure (from Symington to Broughton) was on 4 April 1966." But Peebles-Symington is the whole line, so the Symington-Broughton section can not have closed thereafter. Also, I remember seeing the trackless trackbed near Peebles some time around 1960, and there were certainly freight trains betweeen Symington and Biggar after that.
I think, but I'm not sure, that Broughton-Peebles was closed (completely) very early, possible pre-war, and that passenger services Symington-Broughton continued until the early 50s. I know that freight from Symington to Broughton continued at least until 1964, but I can't be more precise than that.

- Dates were taken from RAILSCOT, however the site appears to be reluctant to load this evening. A second source would be very useful to verify and correct. --Stewart (talk) 18:37, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
RAILSCOT is back on line. It looks like PASSENGER closure Symington-Peebles (whole line) 1950, TOTAL closure Broughton-Peebles (eastern half of line) 1954, TOTAL closure Symington-Broughton (western half of line) 1966? Sorry if I was being a bit dumb before.
