Date of death
[edit]Can someone cite a source for his death date listed here, 1969? I've also seen his death year given as 1971, and I don't know which is right. Google isn't much help. Thank you. Moncrief 22:21, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
Contested deletion
[edit]Muldoon was one of the first proponents of astral projection, he is notable. There are various sceptical books such as Susan Blackmore "Beyond The Body", (1983) that has a chapter on Muldoon. The article has been on Wikipedia for years, it should not be deleted, it just needs significant work, with reliable sources added. HealthyGirl (talk) 03:24, 16 April 2016 (UTC)
Information on Muldoon is found in Conscious Mind, Sleeping Brain: Perspectives on Lucid Dreaming, By Jayne Gackenbach, Stephen LaBerge. HealthyGirl (talk) 03:28, 16 April 2016 (UTC)
- Hi @HealthyGirl: I don't know if you're aware of this or not, but your comments in support of this article, and your references, should really go at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sylvan Muldoon where the AfD discussion is underway. If you already knew this, sorry. Thanks. Picomtn (talk) 15:30, 17 April 2016 (UTC)
Request for AfD withdrawal
[edit]Hi @Edward321: (cc Amatulic and HealthyGirl) I've just completed a complete rewrite of this article and respectfully request that you withdrawal your AfD request for it due to the fact that his person more than meets Wikipedia:Notability guidelines. I also know that this person is not very well liked by members of the Church of Scientology, but that should not be a factor in this discussion I believe. Thank you Picomtn (talk) 14:58, 17 April 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks for the rewrite, this is a vastly better version. I'd never heard of a nominator being able to withdraw an AfD nomination. Regardless, it's probably better to let the Afd run it's course, it seems pretty obvious the result is going to be Keep. Edward321 (talk) 23:46, 18 April 2016 (UTC)
Hi @Edward321: (cc Arxiloxos GabeIglesia Checkingfax Doug Weller HealthyGirl) Thank you for both your prompt response and kind comments, they are most appreciated. And yes, you can withdrawal this articles nomination as per the guidelines outlined at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion#Procedure for non-administrator close (nominator withdrawal).
I must confess my puzzlement to your statement I'd never heard of a nominator being able to withdraw an AfD nomination as the evidence shows you are a very prolific deleter of WP content and nominator for deletion of many articles, which suggests this is a subject you’re an expert on, but without knowing this most basic of policies could suggest to some an ulterior motive for your actions—which I’m not suggesting, only questioning.
Also concerning to me was the deletion on your talk page (which is most certainly your right) of the substantive comments I made to you in an effort to help you, which basically pointed out to you that the WP process for the deletion of an article is the absolute last option to take, never the first, and that cooperation should always be ones first priority here. Thanks. Picomtn (talk) 13:10, 19 April 2016 (UTC)
- A nominator can withdraw a nomination if there have been no delete votes. See WP:WDAFD. Doug Weller talk 14:56, 19 April 2016 (UTC)

This articles subject has been linked to the Rider (imprint) article. Thanks. Picomtn (talk) 15:48, 19 April 2016 (UTC)
- Picomtn. I do not understand the purpose of creating a section on talk pages listing articles that are linked from articles. But, now that we are here, where is the link from this article to [[Rider (imprint)]]? Cheers!

13:55, 20 April 2016 (UTC)- Hi @Checkingfax: The reason I've added this section (and I've done it on other articles too) is to keep my memory intact on the various linkages some of these article subjects have. I haven't read anything prohibiting this, but if there is please advise me. Also, in the Rider (imprint) article I inserted: There are still books on the paranormal, with authors like Raymond Moody and Colin Fry; on astral projection with authors Sylvan Muldoon and Hereward Carrington; and spirituality..., and in this article it's linked from one of the book references. Back to class now! Thanks. Picomtn (talk) 15:26, 20 April 2016 (UTC)
