Does anyone know
[edit]Does anyone know if the story about his body being found with the "Book of things that have not yet been but probably will" is true? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.79.251.248 (talk) 23:52, 16 December 2008 (UTC)
- LOL. Of course it's not true, if he was found frozen (and quite dead) in 1872, he couldn't have died in 1884 (unless he experienced time travel). Don't believe everything you read when it comes to clothing descriptions. I have no reason to believe the story isn't by the author of Dresden Codak. Would be cool if it were true, I'd join the local chapter of the Historical Preenactment Society. -- BlindWanderer (talk) 02:05, 21 November 2010 (UTC)
Why is his name spelled "Sydney" rather than "Sidney"? I've not conducted an exhaustive check, but I have only ever seen his name as "Sidney", except here. DulcetTone (talk) 21:35, 2 December 2020 (UTC)
- Foster's The peerage, baronetage, and knightage of the British Empire for 1882 has it as Sydney. That said, I can see the confusion. Dormskirk (talk)
