Swashplate animation is wrong

[edit]

The swashplate animation is wrong because the axis of the shaft is fixed. In reality the axis moves the same way as the swash plate. Here is correct animation: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zc5VqQsbwio —Preceding unsigned comment added by Quinacrine (talkcontribs) 14:09, 12 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

agree i cannot see how the movement of the gold disc is converted into rotation of the silver plate/axis. the video is far better. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 194.48.204.1 (talk) 13:46, 13 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Inventor?

[edit]

I thought that the swash plate was one of the methods James Watt patented in 1781 to circumvent James Pickard's patent of a crank. Apart from one trial model, he did not use the invention, but still it was invented long prior to 1913. source [1]. Inventor??

[edit]

Agostino Ramelli (1531 - 1600) had drawings using "swashplates" in his inventions dating back to 1588. 73.228.222.112 (talk) 02:45, 15 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
