It sounds like a collection of bullshit. How on earth or anywhere else does air-mass impart motion to air. Any change in pressure automagically transforms into heat exchange and that is before the viscosity of fluids is considered.

How does Sverdrup conclude, frictional dissipation is negligible when it is the core belief on which Coriolis theory hangs together?
