The result of the move request was: page moved, after applying common sense. – wbm1058 (talk) 16:16, 1 April 2022 (UTC)
Wyant Group Raceway → Sutherland Automotive Speedway – Race track renamed under new naming rights agreement effective February 1, 2022 Toontownrick (talk) 04:22, 16 February 2022 (UTC) — Relisting. Steel1943 (talk) 19:34, 22 March 2022 (UTC)

- Is this the new WP:COMMONNAME? -Kj cheetham (talk) 12:07, 16 February 2022 (UTC)
- Comment. There is no any inline citations that verify the new title where as in external links only one website has mentioned this name. Fade258 (talk) 14:17, 16 February 2022 (UTC)
- I can't track it down, but I thought naming convention was to omit sponsorship (when possible), which can change frequently, and stick with the name of the race itself vice the track. -2pou (talk) 19:23, 16 February 2022 (UTC)
- The official websites of the track are slowly being changed over from https://www.wyantgroupraceway.ca to https://www.sutherlandautomotivespeedway.ca. The official news release is available on their facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/sutherlandautomotivespeedway/. My understanding is the changeover has been slowed as many of the documents their members access are on the old site, so it is being left up for now as the new site is built out. The google business page has now been changed from WGR to SAS. I am a customer of the track with no affiliation with them. I understand the sponsorship argument, but this track has no name other than that given by naming rights. It has never been known as anything else. To say operating names can't be used means the wiki page of pretty much every arena, baseball stadium, football stadium, etc. would have to be changed as a violation of this rule that doesn't seem to be written anywhere.Toontownrick (talk) 06:34, 19 February 2022 (UTC)
- See WP:NAMECHANGES for the guidance on name changes. Although this isn't about deletion, WP:OTHERSTUFF tends not to be a valid argument. -Kj cheetham (talk) 20:09, 22 February 2022 (UTC)

Name
[edit]Is it known why they went with the name Sutherland considering it's nowhere near Sutherland in its current location? 23skidoo (talk) 18:28, 21 November 2022 (UTC)
