Contraction
[edit]If this is a ligament and composed of connective tissue, then it cannot contract. In order to contract, a tissue must have contractile elements, namely some type of muscle tissue. Tissues other than muscle can shorten or lengthen over time when constant physical stresses are placed upon them, but this is not considered contraction.
