Ip trivia

[edit]

An IP - the same individual, apparently - is repeatedly adding trivia to the article. It appears that this is simply a case of misunderstanding Wikipedia's standards with respect to trivia, as outlined in WP:TRIVIA. However, the IP should be aware that repeatedly restoring contested material should be avoided. --Ckatzchatspy 07:34, 26 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

"This guideline does not suggest removing trivia sections, or moving them to the talk page. If information is otherwise suitable, it is better that it be poorly presented than not presented at all." --109.78.61.51 (talk) 18:12, 28 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
That does not warrant the inclusion of the trivia you're fond of; in the absence of consensus for inclusion, it should not go in. See if you can garner support for inclusion rather than simply reverting it in over and over again. --Ckatzchatspy 03:18, 2 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
If anything this trivia belongs on the Shuki Levy article. There is nothing unusual or remarkable about a director employing the same actor more than once, so I don't see why it merits such attention. Either way, could you stop edit warring over this and discuss it here. Thanks. --Escape Orbit (Talk) 23:23, 2 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
All I ever wanted to do was improve wikipedia. Back in 2008, I started writing articles that nobody else would write. 4 years later, this has been ruined by the overzealous wikipedia police. So I say fine; have your less than inclusive articles that I worked so hard on. Take away fair use pictures that for some reason don't conform to WP:whatever and delete everything. Fifty years from now people may find this impassioned plea of the last real wikipedia contributor and then they will say that this was when the Age of Information ended. George Orwell was right; 1984 in 2012. --109.76.111.182 (talk) 17:28, 3 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, what?!? First off, why would you presume that others are not interested in improving Wikipedia? Perhaps you have misunderstood the purpose of this site. It is an encyclopaedia, not a fan site or trivia collection. The fact that some of the material you've presented has been removed does not reflect negatively upon the material or the contributor, and should not be taken as such. It merely reflects the reality that the text is not appropriate for an encyclopaedic treatment of the topic. --Ckatzchatspy 19:20, 3 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Ah. Okay Makes sense. Anyone find it funny that we were having this editwar over a page that probably won't ever get this amount of attention ever again? Also, does this mean I can delete trivia sections too? --109.76.111.182 (talk) 21:42, 3 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
