COI concerns
[edit]The account that created this User:Demosthenes310_v2 has no other edits than this.
The article contains a lot of puffery. The COI concerns are obvious.

- One of the main reasons I think we have maintenance tags for articles with COIs is because the people who write them aren't usually able to see the problem themselves— that is why it is a problem! I agree that there is likely a COI concern for the original author of the article, and I agree that it is likely that the article's content needs to be adjusted for neutrality. I am less sure, however, that telling readers that the problem is "obvious" is very helpful, especially since it wasn't obvious to the person who wrote this article. It sounds more like an attempt to avoid taking responsibility for placing the tag. The documentation for the COI template says specifically that if the problem is puffery, it is better to address this than to place a COI tag on the article. I realize all of this is probably annoying to be expected to do. I hope it isn't unreasonable of me to ask you to do it (?). It is much easier to place the tag and walk away, but this doesn't do much to improve the article, which is the real purpose of the tag, I think, no? A loose necktie (talk) 14:44, 16 March 2019 (UTC)
