Suggested Sections

[edit]

This article could use additional sections including Beliefs, Practices, Organization and Community, Controversies, etc. --151.201.147.161 (talk) 16:50, 7 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I tried to add a Controversies section but a seemingly biased editor repeatedly removes them. Lotusyeeter (talk) 01:17, 3 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Original research removed

[edit]

I removed a large tract of original research from this article, which was entirely the work of User:Babylon324. It was an elaborate "criticism" section that was not really referenced to reliable or non-self-published sources, and contained rather odd accusations of links to Freemasonry (gasp!!!) and claims that animal sacrifices (which is more or less what you'd expect from a Greek pagan revival) are "satanic". It alleged that this movement was a "cult", but those statements were only referenced to general anti-cult websites that were not specifically about this group. - Smerdis of Tlön - killing the human spirit since 2003! 15:04, 16 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

That's a pretty ironic statement since this entire article smacks of shameless self-promotion. Even the domain of the group's umbrella organization is up for sale. What about this group is notable at all? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 27.100.8.78 (talk) 21:24, 3 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I have to wonder the same, it seems like self-promotion and considering the swath of uncited, unsourced information I have to wonder why this is still up. Lotusyeeter (talk) 03:52, 3 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Temple Picture

[edit]

OK. It seems this picture was in the article for quite awhile. An IP editor removed it yesterday, I added it back, and another IP Editor has taken it out again. I obviously don't want to start an edit war. Does anyone else have any thoughts? I think it works with the article…

No clue, but none of those addresses made any changes to other pages. However, that pic is also linked on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hellenic_Polytheistic_Reconstructionism. Perhaps it's for another group, or not exclusive to this specific group? The Crab Who Played With The Sea (talk) 19:49, 2 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The picture is available on the gallery section of the Supreme Council of Ethnikoi Hellenes (YSEE) website and it's uploaded by them. I reverted ip user as an unexplained removal. Macedonian, a Greek (talk) 06:21, 3 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Translation

[edit]

In Modern Greek, εθνικός in this case means "pagan," and Έλληνας functions as an adjective (like Έλληνας συγγραφέας = Greek writer). A more accurate translation would be "Supreme Council of Greek Pagans." 146.115.40.172 (talk) 09:28, 24 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Unsourced information

[edit]

A lot of the claims in this article are unsourced. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lotusyeeter (talkcontribs) 01:50, 3 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
