Judgement on Mariette

[edit]

"Mariette's organisation did not always place the welfare of Egypt and the Egyptians at the top of its priorities; the prestige of France, if not of Mariette himself, could seem equally important to him." This claim is questionable; without further elaboration, it is not really useful in this article, especially without a proper source.Thomas Lebée (talk) 17:04, 8 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

In response to "why was the list of heads removed?"

[edit]

I removed them because I couldn't find sources for them and for Africa Destubathon everything had to be sourced and the project leader stated:

"Supreme_Council_of_Antiquities from 1497 B (237 words) "readable prose size" to 3232 B (519 words) "readable prose size" Can you try to restructure it. The lede shouldn't contain text not in the body. I'd move most of the lede to the body. Also some of the lists are unsourced, what is the source for those lists?♦ Dr. Blofeld 07:37, 23 October 2016 (UTC) Level C (talk) 13:04, 26 October 2016 (UTC)I removed every name in list and only left (as prose) those names which could be sited with a news article. Level C (talk) 13:10, 26 October 2016 (UTC)I removed two sentences which were uncited.Yes"

Even though the list of heads are listed in the SCA webpage, for some reason, I thought I needed other sources and when I couldn't find sources, I deleted the list of heads. Level C (talk) 12:40, 3 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Quotations

[edit]

Why are there three paragraphs of nothing but quotations in the history subheading? Surely something else could do? AveryMittag (talk) 04:32, 1 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Images

[edit]

The image on the article is the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. But the Supreme Council of Antiquities has it offices in Abbiseya, Giza, and Zamelak, other parts of Cairo, not in the museum. So it's an ineffective and mis-directing image use. Dwarfseneb (talk) 22:12, 1 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
