The position of the on ride photo isn't mentioned

Either there is none, or I didn't notice it when I rode S:TE. Timetrial3141592 01:25, 18 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

I changed the discussion on the zero gravity section of the ride to clarify that riders are weightless during the entire vertical section of the ride, not just while coming back down. What makes you weightless is your downward acceleration of 1 g. Your actual velocity is irrelevant; riders are being accelerated downward at 1 g even when they're still climbing the tower.

Another way to look at it is that the ride is designed such that in the vertical section nothing hinders its vertical motion. It's in free fall, and that's true regardless of its actual velocity. Karn (talk) 01:19, 30 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Technology?

[edit]

I'd love to see an in depth technology discussion. The ride is, sort-of, a giant rail-gun. The just way the power is distributed along the launch section of track is interesting. I think the same linear motor is used for braking. Just a thought. 208.38.59.162 (talk) 20:36, 22 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
