Octave formulae
[edit]For the Octave formulae, it seems at though there are extra absolute value functions around each trigonometric function. Shouldn't line 3 in the code for 2D read:
raux=abs(1/a(1).*cos(n(1)*u/4)).^n(3)+abs(1/a(2).*sin(n(1)*u/4)).^n(4);
not:
raux=abs(1/a(1).*abs(cos(n(1)*u/4))).^n(3)+abs(1/a(2).*abs(sin(n(1)*u/4))).^n(4);
Also, it appears as though the code is doing matrix operations for multiplication and exponentiation (.* and .^) when these are all scalar operations and * and ^ would suffice. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Aaronkrajeski (talk • contribs) 22 jul 2015 17:24 (UTC)
Patent still active
[edit]https://worldwide.espacenet.com/publicationDetails/inpadoc?CC=EP&NR=1177529B1&KC=B1&FT=D&ND=1&date=20050202&DB=&locale=en_EP 86.25.135.140 (talk) 00:25, 22 July 2016 (UTC)
- It should be noted that the claims of this patent are not for the mathematical formula itself, but for "transforming said generated pattern into a physical form". So for example for using a 3D printer with this formula to generate physical objects. As stated, it doesn't seem to apply to the generation of 3D objects in a (virtual) computer lanscape. 81.245.214.87 (talk) 13:23, 22 July 2016 (UTC)
